Overview
The Upper Pre-Kindergarten Program models its curriculum after state
standards for kindergarten. Our goal is to develop the skills needed
for kindergarten. The children are between 33 months and 42 months. We
keep the child/staff ratio below what is required at 7 to 1(MN law requires
10 to 1) and maximum capacity in the room is 15.
Environment
We customize each child's program to his/her level of development. The
teachers use flash cards, books, and other learning tools to prepare
children for kindergarten. We try to make learning fun by having the
kids trace their names in beans to learn how to spell.
Meals and Snacks
Lunch and snacks are provided by Baby Care. Our lunches are catered
by Premier Kitchens. The lunches are pre-portioned and adapted for our
children. Milk is provided with the lunches and juice, milk, or water
will be provided at meals and snacktime. Baby Care provides breakfast
for an additional fee of $7.00 per week or you may bring breakfast for
your child from home.
Daily Activity
When the weather cooperates, we take the children on walks
within the neighborhood and nearby parks in our safe, multiple-child
strollers. We have an indoor gym and an outdoor play area. Baby Care
does faciliate field trips, but not without written notice and consent
from the parents.
What to Provide
We ask that you provide the following items-when appropriate:
- A complete change of clothing including appropriate
outdoor wear.
- Any blanket, toy, pillow, etc. that may provide
comfort and security for your child.
- Toothbrush and case.
